Chasing The Eclipse--Wyoming Style.

Hey guys, see me waving?!  Sorry I’ve been away, but you know me…I get tunnel vision, and then I can only do one thing at a time.  This time it was vacationing…and I was VERY focused on having fun.  LOL  I was visiting my buds, Jim and Paulette Moss, along with a couple hundred of their closest friends, at the Jim Moss Arena in Riverton, WY.  They had the most fun barrel racing event ever—Chasing The Eclipse.  We had an absolute ball, and I met a TON of wonderful people—folks I think will become lifelong friends.

So, since you asked...here are my vacation pictures. (My story...I get to tell it my way.) LOL

Here is a picture from the event, showing Abigail, Carla, and Zack peering through their very stylish eclipse glasses.  :)  I brought my glasses home as a keepsake.  Ya just never know when you might need a pair of good ISO-certified eclipse glasses, right?  Abigail, Carla, Zack--love you guys!

This next picture shows Deryl and Kathy, from Wittmann, AZ, showing off their new Kayce Lassiter shot glasses.  And yes, you read that right…we had to go all the way to Wyoming to meet our new BFF’s from Arizona.  LOL  Deryl and Kathy, you rock!  Can’t wait to see ya’all again.

And I love this next picture because it shows everything that was going on all at the same time.  You have everything for the makings of a great country story here.  You’ve got Olie (far left) looking through his thingy—not sure if it was a telescope or a camera, but it gave us fabulous views of the eclipse.  You have campers, and coffee, and cowboy hats.  There’s Zack, Carla, and Deryl looking at the eclipse through their stylish eclipse glasses.  Our host, Jim Moss (standing), and Doug (far right) are trying to see who can tell the best story.  Kathy (blonde seated) is patiently listening to them, pretending to care, and then there’s Marian (sitting in the low chair)…who has given up any pretense of listening, as she proudly sips her Butterscotch Martini Shot.  God love ya, Marian, you are a woman after my own heart!

Any blog about what I did on my summer vacation would not be complete without a picture of one of my new BFF's in Georgia.  My lovely new friend, Claudia, was taking the picture, and I'm disappointed I didn't get a pic with her...next time, Claudia!  So, here is her handsome hubby, Dennis, cutting up with yours truly and our hostess, Paulette Moss.

As you can tell, we are having a ball.  But lest you think it was all fun and games, here's me actually working...

Yep, I've got the best job in the whole entire freaking world!!!

Now, this next picture is two of the prettiest girls at the event—Carla and Cara.  If you look closely, you will see Cara (on the right) is Miss Wrangler Classic Queen, and Carla (on the left) is Miss Treated.  Give it a minute…it made more sense when she had a cast on her arm, but it’s still funny as hell.  LOL

Justin, I’m telling you, buddy…you missed out on all the prettiest girls!

And speaking of pretty girls, here is what is probably my favorite picture of the event.  We have Cara (Miss Wrangler Classic) on the right and our hostess, Paulette Moss (Miss Fremont County Fair and Rodeo-1981) on the left.  What worries me a bit is that Paulette is standing in front of a sign that reads “FREE”, holding a roll of raffle tickets in her hand.  What exactly are you raffling off, Paulette?

You know I love you, girlie!

Well, those are some of my bestest vacation pictures, and all of my newest BFF’s.  Next time we’re gonna have to rent a bus to go because you’re all gonna want to go with us.  J  Come on along, us country folks really know how to throw a party!  You don’t have to be country—just fun.

And to all of those wonderful and brave souls who drank Butterscotch Martini Shots with me around the campfire Sunday night—I loved each and every last one of you!  Don’t ever think I was too drunk to remember…that just doesn’t happen.

Hugs, people, and stay in touch!

Love ya,

  1. Two questions: did the eclipse meet your expectations and how about a detour to Cheyenne the next time you visit Wyoming? I'd love to see you again.

    1. LOL Wyoming runs Arizona a close second, in my book. Nothing against Wyoming, but most of my original BFFs are here.
