Reader Interview: Lirva

Reader Interview: With Lirva Bean who lives in Colorado.

Lexi: How did you get into reading romance novels?

Lirva: I started with Harlequin way back as a teen.  I received some free paperbacks by Diana Palmer and other romance authors and then received a Kindle for Christmas in 2004.  Since then, I am addicted to romance novels.

Lexi: Tell me about your pet.

Lirva: We have had two dogs, both purebred Siberian Huskies. We have lost both of them and since we are now retired and travel in our Airstream, we don’t have a pet now.

Lexi: Traveling in your airstream sounds fun! What are you good at?

Lirva: Being a mom and wife.

Lexi: Those are great occupations to be good at 😊 If you could name a character in a romance novel, what would you name him or her? Why?

Lirva: Chance, because I think rodeo cowboys always take chances at bull and bronc riding.

Lexi: Good point. What makes you happy?

Lirva: My husband and daughter.

Lexi: Aww. Tell me about your husband.

Lirva: Met him 39 years ago on a blind date.  We were set up by mutual friends.  We dated and lived together for almost 11 years before we married in 1990.  We have been married for 28 years. He was an electrical engineer and owned his own company for 43 years before he sold it in 2014.  I worked for the company for 24 years. He served in Vietnam for one year in 1966-1967, six months of his deployment was as a helicopter door gunner.

Lexi: A blind date that worked! That’s awesome! What’s your favorite dessert?

Lirva: Apple Crisp

Lexi: Yumm. What types of romances do you like to read?

Lirva: Cowboys and Military (SEALs) -  not a big fan of paranormal or historical romances.

Lexi: What are you proud of?

Lirva: Being a wife and mother.

Lexi: What’s your average day look like?

Lirva: Coffee, read, get ready to either go to gym or my part-time job.

Lexi: What’s your perfect day look like?

Lirva: Sitting in front of a fire and reading in the winter when it is snowing outside or sitting out on the deck and reading in the summer.

Lexi: Hmm, I think you like to read 😉 How many hours a week do you spend reading romance?

Lirva: 20 - 30

Lexi: I’m jealous. Who made the biggest impact on your life?

Lirva: My father, he was kind, humble and hard-working.

Lexi: If you could go on an all-expense paid vacation anywhere in the world, where would you go? Why?

Lirva: New Zealand, beautiful and down under.

Lexi: I’d love to see New Zealand. How many books do have in your “To Be Read” pile (means you’ve bought them but still need to read)?

Lirva: Over 200.

Lexi: Wow! If you could give someone what they wanted most, what and who would it be?

Lirva: The gift of the cure for breast cancer to my cousin who is battling an aggressive form.

Lexi: I wish I could grant your wish. How many romance authors are on your auto-buy list?

Lirva: Over 50

Lexi: What kind of car do you drive? If you had your choice, would it be that one or a different one?

Lirva: Landrover LR4.  I liked my Lincoln Navigator so I would probably go for another one since Landrovers are so expensive to repair.

Lexi: How many children, grandchildren, great grandchildren all total do you have?

Lirva: One daughter (24 and unmarried).

Lexi: Unmarried yet 😉 What do you do for fun (besides reading romance novels)?

Lirva: Snowshoe in winter, hiking in the summer.

Lexi: You must be in good shape! What did you think you’d be when you grew up?

Lirva: Teacher

Lexi: Me too! What don’t most people on social media not know about you?

Lirva: I don’t have social media.

Lexi: LOL. What’s your favorite holiday? Why?

Lirva: Christmas, decorating and the Christmas tree smell.

Lexi: Oh yeah. My hubby loves Christmas, too. What mistake have you made that you learned the most from?

Lirva: Buying a house in the 80’s when interest rates were 14% and having to sell it at a loss (this was before I got married).

Lexi: I think a lot of people made that particular mistake. What color eyes do you have?
