Hello, gentle readers! Hope you are all well
and staying safe!
The struggle is real, folks, and I think, maybe,
I’ve run out of words. Well, not exactly. The words are there…they just don’t
want to go where I need them to go.
After editing The Marshal & Mrs. Morgan, I’ve
gone back to working on The Madam and Mr. MacLean…and the beginning is just…not
right. Still. I’ve rewritten it three times already (I know that’s not a lot,
but for me, it kinda is). Usually, I have the whole beginning in my head and it’s
my favorite part of the writing process…introducing my characters and getting
to know them. Wyatt, I know. He’s a good guy. It’s Sheridan I’m having a
problem with.
Now, with that being said, everything after
the beginning is moving right along. I know what needs to happen (and yes, I’ve
already written parts of it). I also know the ending (parts of that have been
written, too)…I’m just struggling with how to get there.
As I said, this is unusual. The “sagging”
middle is where I have most of my problems.
I will, however, persevere, no matter how difficult
or frustrating because I like who Sheridan becomes and the changes that happen
to her. She’s a good person, too.
In the meantime, The Marshal & Mrs. Morgan
is expected to release on July 22. I’m very excited. And I love this cover! It’s
really beautiful!
And that's about all for me...gotta get back to the struggle. Stay well! Stay safe! And remember to spread kindness wherever you go!
Marie
