Girls' Weekend Away Series by Shana Gray and a Contest!

Hello readers!

I’m so happy to be visiting Lexi‘s blog again!  And this time we’re going to San Francisco. Have you ever been? I think it’s a beautiful city and would love to go back. I’ve been twice and one time when I was there, with my mom back in 1998, we had an earthquake. It was pretty intense, because I had been fearing having one months leading up to our trip. I studied geology in college, so I understand all the forces of the earth that happen below our feet.

For me it was a business trip, but for her she was a tagalong and got to do a whole lot of exploring while I was busy at the conference. I never knew what she was getting up to. She wasn’t afraid, and for a fiery 5’3” English lady, nothing stood in her way. She was 68 when we went. She’d go out and meet new people – perhaps that’s where that’s where I get it from :-) I remember her telling me she almost had a whole organic apple orchard lined up as a business for us. Sometimes she went a little bit overboard….like me LOL

The next time I went was for a writing conference and there were no earthquakes thank goodness.

Experiences from both of those trips are sprinkled into my newest release MEET ME IN SAN FRANCISCO. The second book in my Girls Weekend Away series which was released on September 25. I’m absolutely thrilled that the readers are loving it so far. It’s garnering many five star reviews and positive comments. The first book WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS was released July 24. And yes, Vegas is another place I have been to a few times.

The third book is coming out in December. And it is called THE NASHVILLE BET. A story about a country music singer and a big city girl. Maybe when you’re reading the previous two books you’ll be able to figure out which one of the best friends will be our heroine in the Nashville story. The fourth book, which will wrap up the series is titled A MATCH MADE IN MONACO. That’s where we head to a wonderfully exotic location for some nuptials, of course, I’m not going to tell you who’s getting married!

But one thing I will say is I am planning on having a series contest. The contest will close after the fourth book. All contest information will be in my newsletter, so if you haven’t signed up for it yet, I hope you do. You’ll also get a free download of my sexy book Hot Fusion. If you’d like to sign up, click HERE.

Here is a peek of all the covers from my UK publisher!
Don’t you just love them? I get asked why I have two covers for each book, well, it’s because the world rights (except NA) are with my UK publisher Headline Eternal Romance and my North American publisher, Entangled Publishing creates covers for NA. It’s the best of both worlds!

Speaking of travel, it’s something that I love to do. There’s a big wide world out there and staying in one place without trying to see as much as possible seems such a shame to me. It’s taking me a while to be able to travel as much as I do and next month I’m heading off to Hong Kong and Bali.

I hope you follow my travel on my social media pages. Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Bookbub, Goodreads I’ll be posting a whole lotta pictures to share with everybody. I’m traveling with a friend of mine. She used to work with me and was a police sergeant. She left a while ago to become an Ontario fire marshal. She’s one of three women fire marshals in Ontario and I think there’s an exciting story in there. So I’ll be picking her brain on our trip for a future book. The only thing that has me a little nervous is the recent earthquakes and tsunamis on the islands around Bali, and yes, there is a cranky volcano on Bali - Mount Agung - and she’s been smoking for the last little while. Fingers crossed Mother Nature decides to be kind to us when we’re there and not act up.

In the meantime, for all you pumpkin spice lovers, I hope you have a wonderful fall and enjoy the seasons as a shift from sultry summer too colourful fall. I’ll be back again in December and I look forward to speaking with you all then!

Hanover House by Brenda Novak

Evelyn Talbot starts her hard work on page one.

A person’s past often encourages their future.  Evelyn had been attacked by a psychopath as a teenager.  He's still on the loose twenty years later, and even if he’s not apprehended, Evelyn wants to KNOW WHY a person does the horrendous things they do.

As a psychiatrist, Evelyn goes out of her way to contract a new facility in Alaska to harbor psychopathic criminals.  Most of them have succeeded in killing, whereas she had survived her attack.
Her Darkest Nightmare (Dr. Evelyn Talbot Novels)

The small town in Alaska is divided on whether it wants a prison.  Understandable.  It will provide jobs, yet dangerous criminals are only a wall and an iron bar away from freedom to kill again.

Hilltop, Alaska has a small police force headed by Amarok, a man who’s not hard on the eyes but not completely in favor of more danger in the area.

When Amarok meets Evelyn on her first trip to the not yet finished Hanover House prison, his feelings stutter. She’s awfully careful about being in public or alone.  Must be afraid of something.  Pushing aside his disagreement on bringing in the psychopaths, his urge to protect a beautiful woman wins out.

And Evelyn is a magnet for trouble.

Hello Again (Dr. Evelyn Talbot Novels)

Lucky for her she grudgingly follows the advice and protection of Amarok.  And she welcomes the handsome, hot, and conscientious man into her home.

Make sure you purchase the whole series because this is only the prequel, and the steamy parts of the romance keep building!

Happy reading,

Dawn

Brand SPANKING New!

Brand SPANKING New!

Two new releases are full of characters that really need a spanking!

Dive into Dirty Lies and Dirty Windows by me, Dawn Kunda, and discover the Dirty Love nest built in each story.

In Dirty Lies Brooke wants normal. Brooke wants love. Nestled in the Kettle Moraine Forest, her attempt to start a new life is shot to pieces as her ex-husband lurks around every corner of change.  Dirty Lies (Dirty Love Book 1)

Sinking herself into her art of stained glass, Scott Marshall, a local landscaper, finds her work and her caring nature attractive.  Scott offers her more than a work agreement. To contract her heart is his ultimate goal.

Her plans are shattered when someone wants her dead.

Falsified evidence and twisted statements infiltrate the courtroom as the case of attempted murder multiplies its victims.  Brooke's psychic friend furtively supplies clues to the detectives as they work against a corrupt police force.

Brooke's conscious filters the evidence as she attempts to clarify her relationship with Scott Marshall and the possible manipulations of her ex-husband.

Both men have motive and opportunity.  But who wants her dead and who wants her love?

Dirty Windows brings Brook and her psychic friend in touch with another horrific criminality.

Intricately plotted and edgy, Dirty Windows reveals a blizzard of lies, murders, and deceit.

Eva arrives in Ashland, Wisconsin with a broken heart and a full-proof plan to swear off men. They’re not on her agenda.Dirty Windows

Nick’s move to Wisconsin changes his profession.  Away from death and pain.  No responsibility for the life of a woman here.

That’s until Nick finds Eva and her car buried in the snow.  Something about her won’t let him stay away.

A message from his former boss feels like a kick in the gut.

Nick needs to keep Eva at a distance as he’s assigned by the US Marshals to apprehend fugitives.  Eva doesn’t understand his dismissal and puts herself in danger by befriending the hunted.

Falling snow, baby kidnapping, dead bodies, hidden identities, and flying bullets create a slippery landscape, yet Nick hopes his skilled hands won’t let him down.

The Great Shoe Hunt of 2018

         Hello, gentle readers!
I am on the hunt for a new pair of shoes for the day job (and for an upcoming conference). I know that doesn’t sound difficult, but it’s proving to be so. Why? Well…there are certain criteria these shoes have to meet.
From the time I was one year old until I was fifteen, I had to wear corrective shoes. They were ugly as sin, not to mention uncomfortable. No saddles shoes or Keds or Penny Loafers for me, although I desperately wanted to be able to wear those. I swore, when I was old enough and didn’t have to wear those ugly corrective shoes anymore, I would only wear what appealed to me. And what’s that, you might ask?
Dainty, strappy little sandals.
Preferrably black (because, you know, black shoes go with just about anything!). It’s okay if they have a little bling on them, as long as they remain dainty and…well…pretty. I used to be able to strut around in three to five inch heels….those days are long gone so now, I prefer a kitten heel….one inch, maybe two.
I’d like it if they were on sale (because spending a whole lot of money on shoes that aren’t going to last me that long somehow just sticks in my craw…I’m hard on my shoes…I walk very fast and very heavy, at least that’s what the DH says).
Above all, they must be comfortable. I spent upwards of ten hours a day in them, so they can’t hurt my feet (and believe me, the older I get, the more impossible this is becoming).
Not so hard to find, right?
So, being the optimist I am (my glass is always half full), I took myself shopping this past weekend. If I tell you that I came home with three books and no shoes, would that tell you how I did (and that was after hitting seven different stores)?
Have you seen what’s out there in regard to footwear? Ugh! What apprentice to torture designed these things?
Yes, I found dainty and strappy like I wanted, but none in black….every other color of the rainbow (including a pair that were clear, which were rather cool looking, especially when I tried them on, but alas, they were not comfortable at all and had three toes on my right foot numb within minutes) and none of those came with a heel lower than three inches. I did find shoes with shorter heels, however, they were bulky and thick and so the opposite of dainty, I just…couldn’t.
Remember Fred Flintstone? Yeah, wearing those lower heeled shoes made me look like I had Fred Flintstone feet (for the record, I normally take a six or six and half).
Still, I am determined! There is a pair of perfect shoes out there for me so it’s another trip to the shoe store.
        Wish me luck!

Until next time, remember to spread kindness wherever you go.

A beastly good read

It's getting closer to when goblins and ghosts make their appearance. So how about reading a classic tale with a twist?

Check out M.J. Haag's Beastly Tales.

Depravity

Beastly Tales, Part 1
**ADULT ROMANCE**
A classic fairy tale with a new twist, the Beauty and the Beast saga begins with Depravity…

Sixteen year old Benella is concerned with two things–avoiding the two village boys who torment her and scrounging for food to help feed her family. Unfortunately, the best wild fruit and vegetables are near the walls of the estate, a dark misty place inhabited by an unforgiving beast.
When her tormentors lock her behind the massive gates, Benella knows her fate is sealed. Yet, the fate isn’t one she expects. Her encounter with the beast starts a bizarre cycle of bargaining for her freedom, a freedom the beast seems determined to see her lose.
Intended for mature readers due to sexual situations, violence (attempted rape), and moderate language.

WEDDING AT POKER FLAT (Poker Flat #5) is available for Preorder

Wedding at Poker Flat (Poker Flat #5) is available for preorder!

Wade Johnson wants to make their wedding perfect for his bride-to-be. The problem is, “perfect” doesn’t exist at Poker Flat.

Kendra Lowe, former professional poker player and current sole owner of Poker Flat Nudist Resort, is more than ready to marry her almost perfect cowboy, but when her mother arrives a week early, she’s unprepared for the emotions and baggage that come with her—from her mom’s blunt ways, to old memories, to her parents' coming divorce.

Wade has finally convinced his fiancé to tie the knot. Unfortunately, there are more knots that need to be untied first. Luckily, the misfit band of employees at Poker Flat are determined to help him get her to the altar…one way or another.

Gun-shy after her first beautiful wedding ended in a demoralizing marriage and harsh divorce, Kendra’s hoping this one will be anything but perfect. As hard as it is for her to accept, some things are simply out of her control. It’s very clear that this wedding will depend more on her family, friends, and if love truly can conquer all. If it can, it’s even stronger than she is.
