Books, books & more books!

Hello, gentle readers!
I’m late! Again! I know. The sad truth is that I’m losing track of my days. One minute, it’s Sunday morning, the next, it’s already Thursday…and I didn’t write my post like I was supposed to.
I’m blaming it on the changes we’re all going through (because, you know, it can't be my own mind) - the sheltering in place (even though a lot of places in Arizona are open now, I’m still staying home as much as possible and wearing a mask when I do go out to the grocery), the working from home (for those of us lucky enough to be able to do that), and the general state of affairs outside in the real world.
I’m so thankful there are books…romances with that happily ever after we all crave. If it wasn’t for that, I’d probably go stark raving mad! I’m also thankful for my TBR pile.
I cleaned out my bookcase (well, I live in Arizona…dust is a given no matter how often you clean) and found…a bunch of books I had put there, but HADN’T read yet! It was like winning the lottery! Really! (We’re not going to talk about my Kindle…yes, I have books on there I haven’t read yet, too!)
So what did I find? Oh my gosh! A treasure trove of historical romances, which is my preferred read, a bunch of contemporary that I can wait to delve into, and a few non-romances. Sarah MacLean. Jodi Thomas. Erin Quinn. Victoria Alexander. Lisa Kleypas. Lisa Jackson. Janet Evanovich.
Like I said, a treasure trove! Of course, as I took them all off the shelf and dusted them off, I had to ask myself…where did I get these? I don’t remember buying them (or did I and I just conveniently forgot? Some of them are brand new….the spines haven’t even been cracked yet). Were they given to me by friends who know how much I like to read? Acquaintances cleaning out their own shelves? Doesn’t matter where I got them…I have them so…I’m going to find some time, sit down with a cup of coffee and crack open one of those books. My only question is: which one to start with?

Until next time, remember to spread kindness wherever you go. Stay safe, stay well.
Marie
