Amelia-Rose has spent the past 19 years doing everything to please her mother and always coming up short.  When she meets Naill MacTaggert, she is pulled towards his honesty and charm…as well as his exceptional good looks.  But what really calls to her heart is that he seems to care for her and all the quirks that London’s society shuns.

 

Naill and Ameila-Rose find themselves caught up in quite a tangle, and they both must decide if what they are feeling for each other is worth fighting for or if they will do their families bidding and forever wonder what could have been…

 

Suzanne Enoch’s It’s Getting Scot in Here is a fun fast paced romance that I enjoyed and would recommend to lovers of this genre.  I did have a wee bit of a problem with the mother abandoning her children at such a young age, but I imagine that for the times, it was quite common, and this story does resolve some of the conflict and give us a happily ever after.  I’m kinda rooting for Jane, Amelia-Rose’s cousin, to be paired with one of the other brothers in the next installment of the Wild Wicked Highlanders series.

Sylvia has more than the heat of Alabama on her back when she takes on a murder spree that involves the most unsuspecting group of people.

As the county coroner, she handles the most intimate parts of the dead.  And she finds a marking on the dead that she recognizes.  She can’t let it slip by the police, but she wants to make sure it’s what she thinks it is.

Wringing her hands, she calls a former “acquaintance,” PI Buddy Corlew.  She’s touched him before and can’t believe she wants to do it again.  He’s nothing like what she sees herself with; his hair is shoulder length and to see him in a professional mode requires jeans and possibly a sports jacket if she’s lucky.  But he’s a good man and makes her panties wet.

Buddy doesn’t have any misgivings in helping Sylvia.  Matter of fact, it couldn’t hurt to get to know her better.  Although, to help her with the investigation may hurt her more than anything when the truth is revealed.

Then the danger starts as Sylvia wants to get to the bottom of the murders by herself.

Buddy warns her.  Buddy kisses her.  Buddy does his best to save her.

A great romantic suspense that Webb is well known to provide!

 Scientist/zoologist/discoverist, Xavia Jones is invited to world full of men searching for their Chosen One.  Eden is a paradise to the ever questioning mind of Xavia.  Her inquisitive nature is fascinated by a planet full of verra sexy and verra naked men.  (Yes, you read that right!  It’s Eden, so why have clothes?)  With men outnumbering the women, it allows for a more the merrier coupling.  (Yup!  Read that right too!  This is a ménage lover’s dream come true!)  Xavia is asked to join a group of three Edenists, but when one of her group is exiled outside the walls of the community of Tolba, the injustice behind it causes Xavia to follow him out into the jungle…into the unknown.

Lyka is both shocked with concern and overwhelmed with love that Xavia has chosen to join him in exile.  But the unknown that lies outside the safety of the walls of Tolba is enough to cause Lyka to use his Kindred of Eden powers and shield Xavia’s presence from others.  But there is one she cannot be shielded from…the Beast.

Davos, feared for his shifter abilities, was exiled in his youth.  Always alone even in a crowd, he’s become both provider and protector for the residents of Una.  Una has become a home and haven for those that share the Kindred of Eden ability.  When he recognizes his dearest friend from childhood, Lyka, he’s caught up in memories, both good and bad.  But when he catches a scent of flowers and a woman, the Beast within recognizes that which could finally bring them peace.                                         

Xavia and Lyka see Davos’ longing for love, but will the Beast be too much for them to form a true bond, or will it be last piece of the puzzle that connects and makes three become one. 

Lexi Post has created a mystical world where lovers care deeply for their beloved as well as each other.  To live each day discovering new wonders and finding love is just the type of story I’ll never tire of reading.  Highly recommend Lexi Post’s Beast of Eden!  While this is part of her Eden series, it may be read stand alone, but Reader be warned, it will make you want to go back and read the other stories in the series!

I'm So Behind!

Hello, gentle readers!

I am so behind. Here it is Monday evening and I’m just writing my blog now. This is unusual for me because I generally have it done and ready to go on Sunday. I was a Girl Scout—I believe in being prepared―but I wasn’t. And usually, the words are in my head long before Sunday afternoon. This time, they weren’t. Why?

Once again, I have no topic. Not really. My thoughts are scattered, like leaves scurrying down the street, pushed by the wind. I could blame this on the day job, which is currently whipping my butt. Or I could tell you that it’s my work in progress. The story is going really well at the moment and it’s in my head constantly, which I love, but it doesn’t leave a lot of room for anything else (there’s only so many brain cells).

Here’s an example of what I’m talking about. Just yesterday, I was telling my DH something about our son’s upcoming visit and suddenly, I lost the whole thread of what I was saying. Just like that, it was gone, replaced with dialogue for a scene I was working on earlier and I scurried off to write that down before it was gone, too. My DH (who knows me so well and loves me despite my foibles) just shook his head and walked away. I don’t think we ever picked up the conversation either because, as you know, one thing leads to another.  

Oh wait, maybe I could blame my reluctant brain on the fact that it’s spring and spring in Arizona is just too beautiful to ignore. The weather has been perfect and the sunsets gorgeous. Flowers are everywhere, bright blooms carpeting the landscape. My citrus trees are in bloom as well and the fragrance is intoxicating. Maybe that's messing with my brain!  

So there you are…all the excuses of why I didn’t have a topic for this week….and what do you know? I was still able to write this blog.
