KAYCE’S KOFFEE KREAMER KONTEST

Hey gang, how are ya'all?  Wow, time flies.  Has it really been two weeks?  Sigh.

So…have you ever been so annoyed by something that you spent an hour typing a scathing note to the manufacturer, telling them exactly what they were doing wrong and why you are NEVER using their product again?

Then you realize they really won’t give a flying rat’s arse about your opinion because they view you like you or I would view an ant on the patio floor? So you flush the email, but inside you’re still boiling?

Yep, that was my day today. I was ticked off when the coffee creamer I loyally use day in and day out suddenly disappeared from the grocery store shelves. Now, this may seem like a small thing…and in the scope of life’s biggies, it probably is.  But it set me off like a match to a bomb.

Every year, this manufacturer…who I shall not name, but I will say it’s one of the most popular brands and it ain’t the brand with the big, rounded cap…that brand breaks me out in hives.  😊  Just sayin…

Anyway, I faithfully buy this product all year round—and if you know me, you know I take my coffee very seriously…all day long, all year long.  I go through about 100 bottles of coffee creamer a year at 2 per week. My loyalty CANNOT be doubted.  I am faithful as an old hound dog layin’ in the sun on the front porch.

But every October the manufacturer switches their production lines to make room for holiday flavors. Now, I know many of you probably love sugar cookie or pumpkin flavors.  I do not.  I’m a creature of habit and dammit, I want my zero-sugar caramel macchiato.  I used to want my zero-sugar vanilla/hazelnut mixture, but the manufacturer sacrificed those flavors to holiday flavors one year, only to then ramp up after the season with the caramel macchiato production. It took me a long time to switch, but once I became hooked on that flavor, they continued messing with my holidays.

Last year, I swore I would go out in early October and buy up every bottle I could find. But they tricked me and moved the schedule forward so now they were all gone by mid-September.

So here I sit with only 4 bottles left. What to do?!

Well, I need your help.  I’m now on a mission to move my dollars somewhere else. If this manufacturer can’t keep me supplied with my brand of crack, I’ll find another dealer.

To that end, I’m looking for great recipes for coffee creamer.  It needs to be fairly thick, sweet, zero sugar, and either caramel macchiato, vanilla, or hazelnut flavor…or have the ability to morph into whichever I want.  And it needs to be reasonably affordable and easy to make.  I’m less worried about calories than sugar content…and I don’t cook, so please don’t send me recipes that require stirring, reducing, or have 45 steps, or hours of prep.

I just ain’t doin’ that.

Got it?  Easy. Sweet. Zero Sugar. Thick enough to whiten my coffee decently. (Low calorie or no prep earns an extra entry, as long as it meets the specified criteria!)

You can either post your entry here or email it to me offline at  kaycelassiter@outlook.com , if you are unable to post here.

Every viable submission will receive one entry into Kayce’s Koffee Kreamer Kontest…with an extra entry if your recipe is less than 20 calories per tablespoon (please specify) or less than 5 minutes prep time.  I will post contest entry confirmation here so everyone can see their recipe has been received and accepted.

You will have thru 7pm MST on Monday 10/10 to post or email your entries. I will confirm all entries by 9pm MST Monday, and the winner will be drawn and posted here at the bottom of this post by 10pm MST on Monday 10/10.

Winner gets a $10 Amazon gift card, and everyone who submits a valid entry will receive a download link for a free ecopy (via BookFunnel) of my new release, Life with a Demented Drama Queen.

So, help me out here, folks…post those recipes!

That’s my story, kranky and krazy, and I’m stickin’ to it.  Hang on tight now ‘cuz we’re gonna go real, real fast!

Love ya,

Kayce

  1. Sorry I can not help... my sister loves her flavored creamers, but we never tried making any.

  2. Haven't had coffee for decades, yet would suggest using regular creamer and adding favor via flavored sugar free syrups. I use Jordan's Skinny Syrups. 0 Cal 0 Sugar. Check out the flavors on Amazon.

  4. Plus, grocers used to have smaller flavoring bottles near the coffee section. (Julie again)

    1. I don't know why I didn't think of just flavoring regular cream. It would probably have a lot fewer chemicals in it, too.

  6. Well, folks, it looks like Julie Abrams is the winner, since she seems to be the only entry with a recipe--regular creamer with Jordan's Skinny Syrup added for whatever flavor I want. Woo Hoo...congrats, Julie. You get the gift card and the free book. I'm out of town right now, so give me a day or two to get those items sent.

And if Barbara and Colleen will email me with their email addresses, I will also send the the link to download the book for free since they were both sweet enough to post a comment.

Roberta Fausey was also an honorable mention on the contest. She suggested Bailey's as a creamer, which was an excellent idea, but alas, not one I can drink all day every day. LOL

    Thanks for playing along, everyone!
