POISONED HONOR (Broken Valor #2) by Lexi Post Released!

Poisoned Honor (Broken Valor #2) has released at all retailers!

After a painful accident while on duty, Coast Guardsman rescue swimmer, Tyler Adams is determined to get back to work. Unfortunately, it has left him with a mental scar he can’t conquer, a scar he must hide from the sexy psychologist he’s very attracted to. But as more “accidents” plague the Air Station, he is forced to involve her.

Dr. Meghan Haskell is thrilled to have landed the government contract to help the Coast Guardsmen and women in Crystal Waters, Florida. She’s also impressed that Tyler has had no need of her services even after his accident. Smitten, she jumps at the chance to spend more time with him…until he asks the unthinkable.

Beyond frustrated after another crew member is seriously hurt, Tyler pushes every boundary to expose the saboteur, inadvertently endangering Meghan. Now he must overcome his limitations or lose her forever.

Excerpt from Poisoned Honor

Tyler Adams heard the snap above him as the cable he held beneath the MH-65 Dolphin helicopter lost its tension and he plummeted toward the raging ocean.

Fuck. He was too high!

Fear shot through him, causing his heart to skip as adrenaline flooded his body. With the rush of energy, his brain clicked into action. Survive. What do I need to do to survive?

It hadn’t been the first time his life had been threatened and his training kicked in. He looked down at the fast-approaching waves.

Bend at the waist. Shit, no time!

His body made contact, but it didn’t feel like water, it felt like concrete as his knees gave way at impact. There was a blissful instance of nothing as he plunged beneath the surface and then pain exploded inside him.

“Arrggghhh!”

Tyler sat up in bed. Sweat coated his body. “Fucking goddamn nightmare.” He rubbed his legs, the remembered agony of contact too real for any sane person. He wiggled his toes first to reassure himself they worked then bent his knees and threw his legs over the side of the bed.

Letting his head drop, he ran his hand through his short hair. Would he have these dreams forever? It had been four months since the accident. Why wouldn’t they stop?

You have unresolved emotions.

The voice of the shrink he secretly went to hammered against his brain. He had only a week before he returned to regular duty. No one knew how much he dreaded that. How the fuck was he supposed to continue as a rescue swimmer when he’d woken in the hospital with a sudden fear of heights?

Interview With Vikkas Bhardwaj.

Yeah, Baby!

Well, folks, we have a special treat for ya’all today.  We have an interview with HOT-HOT-HOT cover model, Vikkas Bhardwaj.  Not only is Vikkas hotter than a chili pepper, he’s one of the nicest guys on the planet.  So settle in for a very interesting read about a very interesting person.  Enjoy!

Kayce Lassiter:  What is the one most important thing you would have us know about you?

Vikkas Bhardwaj:  I am a spiritual yogi on this earth plane to learn and to teach. I value even a drop of water, as traveling the world I have seen the best of the places and the worst. I always preach “do not waste food”, as there are people in the world who would die to get a lof of bread.  So, be kind and dont waste.  Take it back it home, but don't throw away food. I have always been a dreamer. That is why I left for bombay, to pursue acting and modelling without knowing anyone.  I did 2 films as the main lead, and have been modelling since—12 years now. I love to love everyone. Without love, we have nothing. Hatred will get you hatred, from everywhere, and love will get you love, from all over the place.  I do follow the laws of attraction.

I understand you have been in some Bollywood movies.  What are the titles, and where can we find them?

Vikkas:  As you know, Bollywood is the biggest film industry in the universe. You have Mr. Steven Spielberg and Brad Pitt, who often visit Bombay.
The first film I did was called CLASSIC DANCE OF LOVE....CLICK HERE to link to it.

To catch more videos and behind the scene videos, kindly go to youtube.com and type in “Vikkaszone”.

How did you land your first Bollywood role?

Vikkas:  This was definitely an accident. I was modelling with an actress for a calendar. The photographer told me to meet this film agent who does big films. So I called him, and met him. He told me to come tomorrow and meet him at the producer’s office at 11 am sharp, clean shaven. So i did.

As I walked in and met Mr. B. Subhash Ji, he smiled and said, ”He looks like my hero of the film.”

My manager said, “Sir, sign him.”

He gave me few lines to read and told me to come prepared tomorrow.  And so i did. After my first read, he decided I was it and signed me for the film. Next thing you know, I was flying to Mauritius with the stars to shoot for 2 weeks. It is an experience I can't explain.

What was the most challenging or exciting thing about your Bollywood projects?

Vikkas:  The hardest thing they had me do was in a swimming pool. The heroine is in the pool, and I’m suppose to come underwater and surprise her from beneath, meaning I had to be underwater. Well, those who know me know I can't swim. It took 1 hour for the trainer to teach me the basics, as I was not told I had to go undewater—it was decided last minute. So, after an hour, God knows how I held my breath and came up and surprised her. On camera it looks so clean, but i don’t know how I did that scene.

How did you get started in modeling?

Vikkas:  I started modeling 12 years ago, in Bombay. I did magazine covers, runways, billboards, and shot for music videos. The person who launched me in the fashion industry, and with whom I traveled the world for fashion shows, was Mr. Hemant Trivedi.

What part of modeling do you enjoy most?

Vikkas:  I love to wear all different kinds of clothing, and body language is most important when you model. Just emoting in front of the camera, I love it.

What part of modeling do you enjoy least?

Vikkas:  When I have to go on a strict diet for 40 days before a major shoot. I cut all carbs, no rice, no roti, no flour, no bread...I survive on chicken, water, grilled fish, veggies, and yes once a week I’m allowed to cheat.

What is the funniest or most embarrassing thing that has happened to you at a photo shoot or on a Bollywood set?

Vikkas:  The funniest part was the first day of shooting on the set where they filmed me kissing the heroine for the first time. Can you imagine?  First day, first day of knowing her, first kiss, and first shot of the film. We both were nervous, but it went smooth. I heard chuckles from the crew, but hey, it's a job and we did it perfectly.

What is the most beautiful or exotic location where you have modeled or filmed?

Vikkas:  We shot in Rajasthan for a brand clothing store which is quite famous in India. We shot at exotic locations of the red forts, huge giant warrior types of forts all over Rajasthan, with peacocks running on the side and coming close to you while you chase them. It was definitely an exotic location.

What one thing would we be surprised to learn about you personally?

Vikkas:  I collect Christopher Reeve's pictures. I have 2 albums filled with his photographs. He has been my idol since i was 10 years old. I have always loved him as a father figure, and always will. He is my HERO. Purest form of superhero that ever existed.

What exciting project do you have coming up that we should watch for?

Vikkas:  Now, that is something you have to wait for.  Give me few months, and I promise you will not want to miss this. Please sign up for my mailing list also. Just go to my website www.vikkaszone.com  Under galleries, do sign up J

Is there anything else that you would like for us to know about you?

Vikkas:  I await to go to Sweden, Denmark, Amsterdam, and Poland. I love European countries and I also plan to visit South India, as we have the oldest temples in the world.

Just love one another, and be kind. This is something I always say.  There is plenty to go around for every human being on earth. So, never fear for anything or anyone. Do your deeds. Thank you for having me, and I absolutely treat all my authors and my fans like my extended family. Be healthy, eat healthy, and if you need any help with any sorta diet, just shoot me a message on Facebook. :-)

Thank you again.
Vikkas

Riley's Summer House.

Hey, ya’all.  How’s tricks?  Good, I hope!

Well, here we are again...another Friday...and I got nuthin’ to blog about.  So, I thought I’d update ya’all on my dog Riley.  Back on Friday, June 10th, I reported that he was eating himself out of house and home.  For those of you who haven’t read that blog, you can find the link at the bottom of this one.  LOL

For those of you who might have read the first blog, you may remember that Riley started with the house on the left and had taken his remodeling far enough to have achieved the look on the right.

Well, Riley is still remodeling his doghouse and, apparently, he’s going for the Tahitian hut look.

Oh, wait...a Tahitian hut has walls.

Perhaps this is the look he’s going for???

Well, I’m here to say that Riley is no slacker.  He has been hard at work on his remodeling project since last June and has expanded his dog house to include..........

.........the entire outside.  Yep, that’s the doghouse as it sits now.  Dog, remember?  No opposable thumbs.  Can’t wield a hammer, can’t run a skill saw.  I actually believe this is what he's going to end up with by the time he outgrows the chewing phase...

Of course, the other two dogs are annoyed.  Every time it rains, they glare at him and run into the other doghouse (smaller and older).

Fortunately, he hasn’t eaten that one yet.  Why, you ask?  Because he loves to sleep on top of that dog house.  Hard to chew down a house from on top of the shingled roof.  LOL  But he did manage to keep his butt on the ground long enough to chew a hole in the front porch of that doghouse and...as you can see, the pool is fair game.

Since I was on the subject of chewing dogs, I did a little more research to see if there were more strange dog chewing stories.  Oh yeah.  I found a whole slew of stuff not mentioned in my June blog that pooches around the world have chewed on.  These are some of my favs.

My dog ate...

·       My homework.  (This one, if true, really sucks!)

·       Ant bait.  (Seriously?  I had to open this one to make sure the dog lived.  It did.  Threw up and was fine...even went back for a 2nd course of the stuff—in a midnight garbage raid.  Again, survived.)

·       A battery.  (Apparently, this one is more common than I would have expected because there were a LOT of internet entries on this one.  The thing I found strange is that so many people out there post in the middle of the night on the internet looking for someone--anyone--to answer, rather than...I don’t know...TAKE IT TO THE VET, MAYBE?  Sigh...don’t get me started!)

·       A toenail off.  (Strangely, I’ve heard of this before...our beloved Bradley had this issue...and nothing to take lightly.)

·       My passport.  (Note:  Do NOT travel with this dog, or you ain't gettin’ back in.)

·       Glass.  (Lots of these too.  Really?  Who leaves glass laying around?  While researching this one, I also ran across...Christmas Tree Ornaments.  Guess they were outta cookies.)

·       Matches.  (Holy cow!  DON’T feed that dog beans!!!)

·       Insulation.  (Sheesh...I can hardly stand to be in the same room with a piece of fiberglas insulation...how the hell could a dog chew on it and not scratch himself to pieces?  Actually, I loved the solution that was put forth...Don’t let him eat it in the first place.  Really?  Rocket science, I guess.)

·       Firework.  (Uh, okay.  I was actually horrified by some of the videos I found posted out there about dogs attacking/eating fireworks.  Dogs and kids...don’t come with a handbook, but I’m pretty sure this one’s self-explanatory.)

·       Sharpie.  (Guess he had a story inside just dying to come out.  No nasty letters, please...I couldn’t resist.)

·       Dryer sheet.  (Bad breath, maybe?  Do NOT try this at home!)

·       Robot.  (And the funny thing is...they are’t talking about a robot vacuum cleaner...they are talking about an honest-to-goodness robot.  Guess the dog’s afraid of being replaced by a machine.)

·       Glow stick.  (This might be my favorite, and I’m dying to know what that looks like on an x-ray.  Sheesh, I sure hope it wasn’t one of those with a hook on the end...that’s gonna hurt later!)

Well, those are the new chew toys I’ve found just since June.  When I look at this list, Riley’s new doghouse looks pretty darn normal.

That’s my story, rickety and ridonkulous, and I’m stickin’ to it.  Hang on tight, ‘cuz w’re gonna go real, real fast!

Love Ya,

Kayce

New Release & Cover Reveal

Hello, gentle readers! I’m so sorry I was AWOL last time around on Happily Ever After Thoughts, but I was elbow deep in second round edits for my latest release, A Kiss in the Morning Mist (Book 2 of the MacDermott Brothers saga).
Silly me, I thought once my son moved out on his own, I’d have more time. How could I have been so wrong? Between the day job and taking care of the house and the DH, I’m still as busy as I ever was and you know as well as I do, there are only so many hours in the day.
Now, all that being said, I’m happy to report that second round edits were completed before my deadline and the galley has been proofed as well so I’m right on target for an April 3 release. I even have my cover! Crimson Romance, my publisher, always does such an awesome job—not just with covers, but with everything (I’m so happy I’m with them!)
Not sure I’ve told you what this story is about, but here’s the blurb:
Eamon MacDermott, former U.S. Marshal, hung up his guns after the tragedy that befell his family at the hands of the Logan Gang when they tried to break one of their own out of jail.
Believing he might have been able to stop the heartbreak before it ever happened, he blames himself for the death of his brother, his brother’s wife and their son. Not even being shot and left for dead by Tell Logan is enough to exonerate him in his eyes…until he meets Theodosia “Theo” Danforth.
Widowed and running Morning Mist horse farm with the help of her extended family and friends, Theo befriends Eamon with her unshakeable belief that everyone needs kindness. Even Eamon. The problem is convincing him he is worthy.
Can he forgive himself and let the past remain in the past? Or will he pick up his guns again to face the man who nearly killed him and risk losing Theo?
And that’s all for me….heading back to my work in progress—the third book in this saga, Teague’s story.

As always, happy reading!
Marie
