About the Author:
Candi Fox, co-host of the wildly popular radio show Candi and Company with over 900 thousand listeners began her venture in the paranormal at the tender age of two, when she witnessed her first apparition. From that moment on the paranormal seemed to follow her. No matter where she moved, the house she lived in the house next door, or the house down the street always seemed to be haunted.  She often wondered if she drew the spirits to her. Little did she know that she was indeed a magnet of sorts. It wasn't until she was in her late twenties that she found people who could not only explain her gifts, but would also help her hone them. Armed with this new knowledge she began to openly explore hauntings and other paranormal phenomena. Growing up in Indiana lent her the opportunity to explore many famous haunted places including the Hannah House, which was once part of the Underground Railroad. A little over two years ago she moved to Tulsa, OK and has began to explore the haunted landscape in a new state. Candi lives with her husband, and furry children in Tulsa. She is passionate about the occult, saving and rehabilitating horses, horseback riding, magic, all things mystical and has her Reiki Mastery. She uses her own paranormal experiences as well as her own life traumas to write from a grounded and realistic perspective about subjects that are hard to talk about and even harder to feel for yourself.

New Release and Giveaway from Romance Author Amanda McIntyre!

Please welcome guest romance author Amanda McIntyre who has brought giveaways with her!

My thanks to my cowgirl, Lexi, for inviting me over to share a bit about my latest, contemporary western release—NO STRINGS ATTACHED (Book I, Last Hope Ranch)
This spin-off of the Kinnison Legacy trilogy set in End of the Line, Montana follows on the demand of readers wanting more stories from the characters in my sleepy little fishbowl town of rugged men and the women who will tame them. So without further delay-
WELCOME BACK TO END OF THE LINE, MONTANA!
Come by for a visit, we think you'll like it here!
Sally Andersen has spent her life teaching school kids and being a caretaker for her ailing father. Alone after five years, she sees her friends marry and start families and decides she, too, wants a family... just not in the conventional way.
Serving overseas left Clay Saunders with no leg, PTSD, survivor guilt, and more pity than he wants. Recuperating at the Last Hope ranch at the insistence of his old friends, the Kinnison brothers, he is asked to take part in a charity bachelor auction by the little town's fiery, redheaded music teacher. What Clay doesn't expect is the hope of a normal life that sparks inside of him at her unusual request...
She wants a baby. NO RULES. NO COMMITMENT. NO STRINGS ATTACHED.
Excerpt from No Strings Attached. Book I (Last Hope Ranch)
“I want to have a baby.” Her gaze was steady.
He’d tiptoed his way through a minefield or two in his time—he could handle this. He reached for a towel and wiped his hands, proceeding cautiously. “Yeah, I saw the brochures.” He glanced over her shoulder and saw the rest of the ladies seated in the other room, busy talking.
“No, what I mean is…I really hadn’t given this much thought—you know, about asking somebody to help me.” She looked away as though piecing it together in her brain. “I could pay you a fee, of course, and there would have to be some legal issue—a contract.
Whoa. Contract? Clay suddenly felt the need for a drink. He opened one cabinet and then another. Surely Jerry kept a stash of whiskey around, if only for cooking.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“Looking for the whiskey.”
“Jerry’s a beer drinker,” Sally answered.
“That’ll do.” He continued to check every cabinet and shelf in the kitchen.
“You think I’m crazy.”
It wasn’t really a question. More of a statement of fact as presented—he just happened to agree. “Bingo.” He leveled her a look, then went back to his quest.
She walked toward him and he had the strongest urge to grab a rolling pin. But a greater battle roiled inside him. His libido was on fire, ready to sign on the dotted line, but common sense cautioned him to keep his dick as far from her as possible.
“Look, it’s not like I’m asking you to commit to anything.” She scooted her fine little ass on the wooden stool and crossed her legs. “You know; it was really that kiss that got me to consider this idea.”
Good to know she’d been affected. Crazy train wasn’t exactly the response he’d planned on.
“It’s perfect,” she continued. “You have no ties here. I assume you’re not planning on staying since your only family is out in California.”
Clay stared at her, trying to decide if the woman was certifiable or simply delusional. Did he look like the kind of guy who could walk away from his own child? “You don’t know anything about me.”
Her face lit up. “I know, that’s why it’s perfect. I don’t really need to know much. I already know you’re kind to animals, patient with kids, you’re a hard worker, former military, good in medical emergencies, and you can cook.” She lifted her palms. “What more, other than your health, do I need to know?” She eyed him. “And from here you look pretty damn healthy.”
Clay blinked, waiting for his brain to catch up with his good sense, which kept tripping on his libido. He felt like a damn racehorse, and if she asked him to smile— “Look, Sally. I’m flattered, really. But they have places—clinics—I’m sure they’re mentioned in the brochures. Places where guys can donate—”
“Sperm, Clay,” she interjected. “And yes, I know. I’ve done the research. Crunched the numbers. And honestly, the bottom line looks grim. My insurance covers only the initial exams and tests. The rest of it I would be financially responsible for.” She held his eyes for a moment more, then slapped her hand on the table. “You know, you’re right. It’s a crazy idea.” She hopped off the stool. “Forget I mentioned it.”

Interview with Nancy Corrigan, Erotic Romance Author

Alexis: Today we have erotic paranormal romance author, Nancy Corrigan who has included rafflecopter to win her book and an Amazon gift card, but it ends December 13th!

Welcome, Nancy. Which authors inspire you?

Nancy: Laurann Dohner. While I’ve been reading romance since I was a teenager, Laurann’s New Species series is what gave me the push to take my story and give it life. At the time I was reading her books, I also devoured Gena Showalter’s Lords of the Underworld series. The passion of EC books combined with the idea of multiple souls sharing a body. My Royals were born! Multi-feline shifters who house three big cats’ souls within them. It makes them intensely passionate and possessive. When they find their chosen one, nothing stops them from keeping her close.

Alexis: What are you working on now?

Nancy: Right now I’m splitting my time between book 3 of the Royal Pride series and book 1 of another paranormal series.

Alexis: Why did you choose this sub-genre of romance?

Nancy: My love for the paranormal started as a child when I used to watch Dark Shadows and the Twilight Zone. From there, it just evolved into a love for everything that goes bump in the night. The erotic aspect wasn’t something I planned on. I actually meant for my books to follow the traditional romance guidelines but sex is so much a part of love. I simply couldn’t tell my story without it.

Alexis: And we are glad you can’t :-) Does your pet help with your writing or distract?

Nancy: My dog, Penny, is a huge help. She’s my constant companion even when I pull all-nighters. Although, she always decides she wants to go out when I’m in the middle of an important or sexy scene. She doesn’t bark so her way of getting my attention is by staring and staring and staring. Not cool when my characters are getting hot and heavy.

Alexis: Too funny. What do you think everyone should know about your husband?

Nancy: He’s an absolutely amazing, supportive man. I honestly couldn’t write anything without him. Besides my writing, I work 12 hr swing shifts as a chemist in a pharmaceutical plant. With three kids in sports and activities, life is beyond hectic. He keeps everybody organized, helps with the house and reminds me to eat and sleep. (I tend to hyper-focus, just a little bit. LOL.)

Alexis: Thank you so much for visiting Happily Ever After Thoughts, Nancy.
Everyone should check out this excerpt from UNEXPECTED FIND:

Jasmine was the first female to stir his instincts and bring his primal side out. He needed to taste her arousal, swallow her desire. Nothing else mattered.

With a kick, the door clicked closed, blocking out the laughter and music. The rapid beat of her heart and the soft moans reflecting her approval filled his ears, a sound that suddenly seemed necessary. He carried her to the leather couch he’d spied earlier and lowered her without breaking the melding of their mouths. Stretched over her, he slipped his hand into the fall of her hair and cradled the back of her head. On and on they kissed until her arms looped around him and one leg hooked over his waist. The move opened her to him, an invitation that assured him she felt safe in his arms, ready to allow him further access to her body.

He broke the kiss and skimmed his lips along her jaw to her ear. He caught the tender lobe between his teeth and nibbled. Another shudder ran through her body. A sensitive spot. Good. Finding each one seemed necessary. He should be worried about why that was but he wasn’t. The soft moans she rewarded him with outweighed the concern.

While he sucked on the flesh, he reached for the button of her shorts, popped it and pulled the zipper down. Her muscles tensed but he sat up, hooked his fingers around the hem and yanked the denim down her legs. A flick of his wrist and he tossed the material behind him. Simple white bikinis covered her sex. Nothing had ever looked more tempting.

“What are you doing?”

She didn’t tell him to stop so he laid a palm over the cotton and slid his fingers down her cloth-covered cleft. Dampened heat seeped into the fingertips but he needed to touch her, feel the slickened lips. He slid one finger under the elastic and groaned.

“Touching you.”

He peeked at her through the fall of his hair, not bothering the push it out of the way. Watching the half-lidded, drowsy look of arousal spread over her face was much more important.

“You’re wet, Jasmine.”

She whimpered. Her gaze flicked from his face to where his fingers moved behind the cloth of her panties. The excited yet hesitant way she watched him made him wonder exactly how experienced the little siren was. From the way she kissed, he would’ve said very. But this display made him question that assumption.

He slipped a finger between her lower lips, swirled it in the opening and whispered, “Drenched.”

“We shouldn’t do this,” she said but made no attempt to get away so he dipped the tip inside.
The sheath he slid his finger into felt untried, tight. Muscles gripped the small invasion. Her eyes rolled back and a low moan spilled from her throat. His breathing quickened in response to her growing excitement. He pushed deeper, met no resistance. Not a virgin, just inexperienced. And he looked forward to educating her. Starting now. But first he had to be sure.

“Do you want me to stop?”

Interview of Jo Grafford and Giveaway

Alexis: Today we historical romance author, Jo Grafford who has a rafflecopter for for three gifts cards to Amazon.com or BarnesandNoble.com (winner’s choice) for $50, $25, and $15!

Welcome, Jo.What are you working on now?

Jo: Book Two of the Lost Colony Series, of course! This one will feature Jane Mannering, the huntress. An Amazon of a woman, she is fond of adventure and blunt honesty and is prone to striding around in her late father’s leather hat and boots. She can shoot as well as any man and is not above puffing an occasional pipe. Keep in mind that back in her day, the use of tobacco was believed to have medicinal value.

Alexis:Why did you choose this sub-genre of romance?

Jo: I passionately love everything about Elizabethan, Colonial and Native American history. It was as natural as breathing to write a novel within this sub-genre.

Alexis: What has been the most memorable fan comment you ever had?

Jo: Just received a text from a neighbor earlier today. “Oh my gosh, Jo. I have laundry to do and errands to run, but nothing’s getting done till I finishs Breaking Ties. I can’t put it down.” That’s the ultimate compliment – a reading experience that pulls you in so deep, that nothing else matters besides turning the page to see what happens next.

Alexis: I agree. Can you tell us your story of getting the call to be a writer?

Jo: I think I was born a writer. LOL Every writer out there knows what I’m talking about. Images of characters and scenes as well as entire conversations form in my head, and they don’t go away until I write them down. Sometimes these visions continue on my dreams, and voila! I awake with the concept of the next scene or chapter or book already developed. Believe me, it’s both a gift and a curse at times.

Alexis: What was your first writer’s conference?

Jo: The RT Booklovers Convention in Kansas City, MO in May, 2013. It’s a magical meeting place for both readers and writers. I still have stars dripping from my eyes over all the free and signed books I received - including a pre-release copy of Brandon Sanderson’s newest series. Topping the list, however, was the Pitch-A-Palooza Event where I was able to give three-minute pitches to real agents and editors. This turned into my first book contract several weeks later with Astraea Press. I highly recommend the RT Convention!

Alexis: Check out these excerpts from BREAKING TIES

PREFACE
Sometimes murder isn’t as messy, up-close, and personal as many people imagine it to be. Sometimes it is distant and impersonal – as simple as crossing a line through a name on a sheet of paper. Or one hundred and fifteen names in our case.

CHAPTER ONE
Portsmouth, England, April 26, 1587

“Yer bum’s hanging out the window!” My brother banged his empty mug on the inn table. He ran both hands through his hair, as red as my own, standing each flaming lock on end.
My lips turned up despite the heaviness in my chest. It felt good to hear him lapse into the Gaelic brogue of our childhood. “Och, Donnen!” I reached across the table to clasp his large hands and grimaced at the stench of salmon and sweat hanging in the air. “I dinna bring ye here to quarrel. ‘Tis my first job offer in weeks.”
I dared not share my other reason for leaving.
“Nay, ye can stay with me till ye find a different job. Crossing the Atlantic unwed is bad enough, but these—” He shook my upraised palms, “are ink stains. Blast it all! Ye’re a clerk, not a sailor.”
“Indeed?” Saints alive, he acted as if I was still twelve instead of nineteen. “Well, good news. I shall be accompanied by other women – whole families of people, for that matter – and ‘tis a clerk they need.”
“Only because—“ Donnen glanced around the room and lowered his voice. “The last one left in a frightful hurry along with half the crew all in the same night.” His glare was fierce. “Rumor has it the entire fleet is bound straight for Jonah’s watery vault. I don’t suppose that came up during the bloomin’ interview?”

CHAPTER THIRTEEN
"You want my help." 'Twas an accusation.
     "Aye."
His eyes darkened. "I save your life. I give gifts. I offer marriage." He closed the remaining distance between us, his eyes burning into mine.
     I stumbled back.
"You give nothing in return," he snarled. "You only ask for more."
"I would had I something to offer," I whispered. "But I have nothing. I am nothing."
"Then what use are you to me?" He wheeled away.
I sagged against the door, eyes stinging. I blinked rapidly and pressed a hand to my stomach. Nausea rolled at the thought of informing the others of my failure.
Manteo circled the cabin like a hawk stalking its prey. 'Twas a fine room with ornately carved shelves lining one wall. Bunks were built into the next wall. A generous desk jutted from the third, overflowing with maps and navigational devices. I recognized the compass and hourglass but could not identify the other instruments. I jerked in surprise when Manteo swooped down upon me.
"I know our location." His arms shot out and slapped the wall on either side of me, hemming me to the door. "I could swim ashore from here."
"Then why do ye stay if ye can leave and save yourself?"
"Governor White gave his word to deliver me home."
"We are going to starve, Manteo. 'Tis only a matter of days now."
"Nay. You alone starve. The others eat."
     "I have no appetite."
"You act as one already dead."
I straightened my back. "I accept what I cannot change."
"And I change what I cannot accept." He shifted his weight to the wall, one arm propped over my head. He drew his fingertips down the side of my face in a feather-light caress.
I closed my eyes against the rush of unbearable sweetness. He made me long for things forbidden. "'Tis within your power to help us. I am begging you."
     "Very well."
My eyes flew open. "Ye will do this for us."
"For you." His voice was silken, his features as hard as granite.
I smiled tremulously. "I thank thee, Manteo. Chief Manteo, that is." The new title felt strange on my lips. I beheld him with a mixture of awe and pride.
"I have yet to name my price."
     I stared, confused.
He grunted in disgust. "You refuse me as both husband and lover, so you are left with the hiring of my services."
I worried my lower lip between my teeth. At least he was willing to negotiate. His eyes flashed with lust as he followed my movements.
"I will entreat the Dares for payment."
"Nay. You are the one in my debt."
I raised and dropped my hands helplessly.
"You serve this company, no? You can serve my people, too."
"Ye would hire me as clerk?" Hope leaped in my chest at the possibilities. I would not have to part from him so soon.
"My people have no clerks." His eyes narrowed. "We have slaves."
My breath hitched. "Ye wish to punish me, humiliate me?"
"Nay, I only wish to marry you."
I briefly closed my eyes against the pain. He already knew the reason for my refusal.
     "Rose."
"Say no more. I will do it. 'Twill be punishment enough to see you so often and—“ I clamped my lips.
Exultation flickered briefly across his face. "You would give up your freedom to save your friends?"
     "Without question."
     "Swear it," he said grimly.
     "I swear it."
His eyes flared with emotion. He bent slowly 'til his breath stirred my lips. My eyelids fluttered closed. Heaven help me, for I had no will left to resist him.
"Now you will eat," Manteo commanded hoarsely. He stepped back, surveying me from head to feet.
     "Eat?"
"I have no slaves so thin and weak. Go. Collect your rations." He turned from me and bent to pore over a map on the table.
I reached for the door handle, disbelieving at the curt dismissal.
"And send for Anthony. I have need of him."
I glared at his back. Faith, should I press my face to the floor as well? "Aye, master." I bit the words out and fled.
