Alexis: Today we have erotic paranormal romance author, Nancy Corrigan who has included rafflecopter to win her book and an Amazon gift card, but it ends December 13th!
Welcome, Nancy. Which
authors inspire you?
Nancy:
Laurann Dohner. While I’ve been reading romance since I was a teenager,
Laurann’s New Species series is what gave me the push to take my story and give
it life. At the time I was reading her books, I also devoured Gena Showalter’s
Lords of the Underworld series. The passion of EC books combined with the idea
of multiple souls sharing a body. My Royals were born! Multi-feline shifters
who house three big cats’ souls within them. It makes them intensely passionate
and possessive. When they find their chosen one, nothing stops them from
keeping her close.
Alexis:
What are you working on now?
Nancy:
Right now I’m splitting my time between book 3 of the Royal Pride series and
book 1 of another paranormal series.
Alexis:
Why did you choose this sub-genre of romance?
Nancy:
My love for the paranormal started as a child when I used to watch Dark Shadows
and the Twilight Zone. From there, it just evolved into a love for everything
that goes bump in the night. The erotic aspect wasn’t something I planned on. I
actually meant for my books to follow the traditional romance guidelines but
sex is so much a part of love. I simply couldn’t tell my story without it.
Alexis:
And we are glad you can’t :-) Does
your pet help with your writing or distract?
Nancy:
My dog, Penny, is a huge help. She’s my constant companion even when I pull
all-nighters. Although, she always decides she wants to go out when I’m in the
middle of an important or sexy scene. She doesn’t bark so her way of getting my
attention is by staring and staring and staring. Not cool when my characters
are getting hot and heavy.
Alexis:
Too funny. What do you think everyone should know about your husband?
Nancy:
He’s an absolutely amazing, supportive man. I honestly couldn’t write anything
without him. Besides my writing, I work 12 hr swing shifts as a chemist in a
pharmaceutical plant. With three kids in sports and activities, life is beyond
hectic. He keeps everybody organized, helps with the house and reminds me to
eat and sleep. (I tend to hyper-focus, just a little bit. LOL.)
Alexis:
Thank you so much for visiting Happily Ever After Thoughts, Nancy.
Everyone
should check out this excerpt from UNEXPECTED FIND:
Jasmine was
the first female to stir his instincts and bring his primal side out. He needed
to taste her arousal, swallow her desire. Nothing else mattered.
With a kick,
the door clicked closed, blocking out the laughter and music. The rapid beat of
her heart and the soft moans reflecting her approval filled his ears, a sound
that suddenly seemed necessary. He carried her to the leather couch he’d spied
earlier and lowered her without breaking the melding of their mouths. Stretched
over her, he slipped his hand into the fall of her hair and cradled the back of
her head. On and on they kissed until her arms looped around him and one leg
hooked over his waist. The move opened her to him, an invitation that assured
him she felt safe in his arms, ready to allow him further access to her body.
He broke the
kiss and skimmed his lips along her jaw to her ear. He caught the tender lobe
between his teeth and nibbled. Another shudder ran through her body. A
sensitive spot. Good. Finding each one seemed necessary. He should be worried
about why that was but he wasn’t. The soft moans she rewarded him with
outweighed the concern.
While he
sucked on the flesh, he reached for the button of her shorts, popped it and
pulled the zipper down. Her muscles tensed but he sat up, hooked his fingers
around the hem and yanked the denim down her legs. A flick of his wrist and he
tossed the material behind him. Simple white bikinis covered her sex. Nothing
had ever looked more tempting.
“What are
you doing?”
She didn’t
tell him to stop so he laid a palm over the cotton and slid his fingers down
her cloth-covered cleft. Dampened heat seeped into the fingertips but he needed
to touch her, feel the slickened lips. He slid one finger under the elastic and
groaned.
“Touching
you.”
He peeked at
her through the fall of his hair, not bothering the push it out of the way.
Watching the half-lidded, drowsy look of arousal spread over her face was much
more important.
“You’re wet,
Jasmine.”
She
whimpered. Her gaze flicked from his face to where his fingers moved behind the
cloth of her panties. The excited yet hesitant way she watched him made him wonder
exactly how experienced the little siren was. From the way she kissed, he
would’ve said very. But this display made him question that assumption.
He slipped a
finger between her lower lips, swirled it in the opening and whispered,
“Drenched.”
“We shouldn’t
do this,” she said but made no attempt to get away so he dipped the tip inside.
The sheath he
slid his finger into felt untried, tight. Muscles gripped the small invasion.
Her eyes rolled back and a low moan spilled from her throat. His breathing quickened
in response to her growing excitement. He pushed deeper, met no resistance. Not
a virgin, just inexperienced. And he looked forward to educating her. Starting
now. But first he had to be sure.
“Do you want
me to stop?”

About Nancy
I've always been an avid reader and encourage everyone to
escape the hectic daily grind with a few minutes a day in your favorite book.
I'm lucky enough to share my cat's home with my three
wonderful children, husband, dog and snake. When not writing, I work as a
chemist in a pharmaceutical lab.
My passions beyond reading and family include music,
classic cars, tattoos and animals (all of which have found their way into my
writing in one form or another).
So that's a little bit about me...

Great excerpt, Nancy! And she better say "No (I don't want you to stop!)" You sound extremely busy; is time management a big part of your writing plan? Are there any parts of writing your books that are the hardest?
ReplyDeleteThanks! I'm glad you liked it. :-)
DeleteI am busy, but I love to multitask. I also have a very supportive family. It works.
For me, the hardest part of writing is the last chapter. I hate saying goodbye. Thankfully, this book is part of series so instead of a goodbye to the world I created, it’s a 'until next time’ ending.
Thanks for sharing & the giveaway! I always enjoy your books.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome! And good luck. :)
Deletegreat interview, Nancy! Love your writing and congrats on your release. :)
ReplyDeleteUnexpected Find sounds wonderful, Nancy! I can't wait to read it. :0)
