They love outdoor amphitheaters the best and attend as many during the warmer months as possible. Excerpt:
Her body revved like an engine ready for the starting gun. Though she should feel embarrassed, she didn’t. Powerful was more the feeling, though from the man before her, she should feel weaker than a day old kitten. She lifted her hand and made a circle with her finger. “Turn around. I need to see everything if I’m going to pass judgement.”
She saw more than heard his silent chuckle as he turned his back on her.
Shootin’ sheepherders! He was just as hot and tight in the ass as he was in the front. His back muscles rippled as he looked over his shoulder.
   “Well?”
She swallowed hard, her belly doing flip-flops over the view of him. “You’ll do.”
He turned back around and closed the distance in one stride. “I’ll do?”
She forced her gaze up to meet his. “Yes.” She tried to grin, to lighten the mood, but the electrical attraction she felt wasn’t going anywhere.
“I’ll do for what?” He eyed her seriously, all traces of humor gone.
Good question. She didn’t have the answer. She couldn’t think with him so close, except about how much she wanted to touch his hard chest.
“I don’t know. I better go to bed.” She started to turn but his hand came down on her shoulder.
It wasn’t hurtful, just detaining, holding her there. “Dana.” His tone softened and her heart squeezed, a long buried need to be cared for rising up, yelling at her that this man could do it.
She stared at him, her hope fighting with her doubt. Why would he want to care for her? Her own parents fought over who would get custody, neither wanting her. Just because he was strong and caring didn’t mean he’d want her either.
His other hand cupped her cheek. “I like you. I find you fascinating, in a good way. Let me kiss you again.”
It was no more than a physical want, but at that moment, with all that was happening to her, she’d take it. She gave him the slightest nod possible, but she could sense his tension ease, even as he lowered his head and his lips touched hers.
Like at the fire station earlier, he was gentle, as if she were the most precious person in the world. Her cynical self crumbled as his tongue breached her lips and explored her mouth. He tasted of mint, and he smelled so masculine, a combination of smoke and musk.

For The Hope Of A Crow by T.S. Joyce (Red Dead Mayhem #1)

T.S. Joyce creates characters with spunk and personality along with a story that I can’t help but cheer for the hero and heroine to figure out their problems!

So, then I wondered how a male crow shapeshifter and a female moose shifter would fit together and what’s sexy about those animals?  Joyce didn’t let me down.

Ramsey’s human form is a badass leader of a biker group and hot as hell with rippling muscles, tats, and hidden sensitivity which needs to be exposed.  Crows mate for life and his crow’s initial pick dumped him like a hot rock.  He needs to be fixed before he goes crazy and takes his clan down with him.For the Hope of a Crow (Red Dead Mayhem, #1)

In walks Vina, opposite of her moose personality, she’s calm and a bit naïve.  She’s been divorced and has a plan to mate a crow because they mate for life.  She likes pink and using cuss words doesn’t appeal to her. It’s quite the road to determine if the two opposites find a common need.

The story’s entertaining and full of colorful terms and descriptions to get Vina and Ramsey to a point where love reveals their matching good sides! Man saves woman and moose (yes, the female) saves the crow.

Happy reading,

Dawn

About The Redemption of the Shrew: Nothing is more painful than rejection—particularly when completely naked! Gloriana Warren doesn’t want to wait for marriage. Beneath her shrewish exterior is a kindhearted woman who uses her fortune for good. It doesn’t matter that the man she’s set her sights on claims impoverishment. She’s in love and determined to marry him. But her attempt at a moonlight seduction ends in disaster. French marquis Philippe de Bellechasse has had it up to his gorgeous dark eyes with being pursued by lusty ladies. His escape to England from the violence of the French Revolution took a toll on his finances as well. Gloriana may be gloriously naked, but he’s just not ready to submit to her seduction. But when a precious family artifact is stolen, Philippe must convince Gloriana he’s not the guilty party. He’ll steal it back for her, but on his terms. Gloriana, believing he despises her, has plans of her own. Working at odds is dangerous, but working together can be more so. Is Philippe willing to risk his heart again for a deliciously tempting shrew? Amazon Buy Link
Excerpt: A clandestine meeting, particularly where nakedness is involved, is best arranged for a moonless night. Or so Gloriana Warren told herself, for her mother would never have uttered such a scandalous dictum. Unfortunately, it was tonight or never. Tomorrow, the man she had sworn to love forever would leave Lancashire and return to London—without her. They wouldn’t be able to marry for years because of his stupid scruples about money. Men and their tedious pride! She and the Marquis de Bellechasse loved one another. They shared the same lofty ideals. She had a substantial dowry. Marrying now made sense. Not only that, her mother would die happy. So Gloriana was taking matters into her own hands. She had planned the upcoming encounter in glorious detail—every word, every gesture. As she emerged from the summerhouse to greet him, he would stand and stare at her, transfixed by her beauty. “Darling Philippe,” she would say, reaching for him, offering herself without reserve. “Love is eternal. It cannot, must not be denied!” “Ah, ma belle,” he would respond, his hand on his heart, his voice throbbing with desire. “I adore you. What a fool I was to think we could wait for years. Even another minute is too long. Tonight, I shall make you mine!” She would fling herself into his waiting arms, swept away on the tide of his passion. She wasn’t sure exactly how it would go after that, apart from plenty of kissing, but judging by her previous experience of Philippe’s kisses, it would be the most thrilling experience of her life. She sneaked out the French doors, arms full of blankets, and glanced back up at Garrison House. Not a glimmer of candlelight showed in the windows. She hurried through the rose garden and skirted the lawn, keeping to the bushes and out of the moonlight. In the secret room under the summerhouse, she and her darling Philippe would be safe. Tomorrow they would announce their engagement to Mama. They would send for a special license and be married within a week. Ten minutes later, she had set up a makeshift bed under the summerhouse and removed all her clothes. Shivering more from excitement than from the chilly night air, she waited for Philippe to arrive. Tonight would be the most perfect night of her life. ~~~ The Marquis de Bellechasse left his horse in a convenient copse and made his careful way forward, pausing at the edge of the trees. Garrison House was reassuringly dark, but moonlight reflected off the ripples on the lake. The summerhouse gleamed white on its little knoll, exposed on all sides. He paused, listening. No sound disturbed the darkness except a nightjar complaining from a nearby oak. He hoped and prayed no one else was up and about tonight. He couldn’t afford to get caught with Gloriana Warren, but nor could he bring himself to ignore her passionate plea to see him once more before they parted. He loved her—to the point of folly, judging by his current behavior. He had already said farewell, and yet here he was, trespassing on her brother’s estate at midnight to say it again. He dreaded her inevitable tears. The door to the summerhouse stood wide open, which meant Gloriana was here already. Fine. Best to get it over with now. He took a deep breath and set out across the lawn. He had almost reached the doorway when she came into view, rising from out of nowhere, her face pale, her hair loose around her bare shoulders. He halted, staring, his heart thundering. She continued to rise, her breasts round and luscious in the light of the moon. His eyes slid helplessly down the curve of her hips to the darker patch at the apex of her thighs . . . Mordieu. He shook his head and began to back away. “No, chérie. We must not do this.” She set her feet on the floor—she must have emerged from a trapdoor—and beckoned with those sweet arms, smiled with those lush lips. “Philippe, my darling, please come to me. I love you so much.” “No, ma belle, I cannot.” “But love—” She faltered, then continued toward him, arms wide. “Love is eternal. It must not be denied.” Sacrebleu, she was declaiming like a shoddy actress on the stage. The thought revolted him. Surely his idealistic Gloriana could not cheapen herself so. Anguished, he put up his hands to fend her off. “It is not possible, Gloriana. Not yet. It would not be right.” She hurried forward, her breasts jiggling enticingly. “Truly, we mustn’t delay. My mother may not have long to live, and seeing me married well is her dearest wish.” He didn’t care in the least about old Lady Garrison, who was the worst sort of snob. He shook his head. “No. To wait is best.” “Philippe, I cannot wait. I need you now.” She reached for him, her nakedness inches away. He gritted his teeth and took another step backwards. His imbecile cock was reacting to her, but he had long ago gained control over its demands. “I am sorry, but I must go.” He turned away. She wailed, a sharp, keening sound, and immediately a shout came from nearby. Her brother? No, he was in London. A gamekeeper? Whoever the man might be, he was lurking here on purpose. So much for love, Philippe thought. Gloriana was just another lust-crazed woman trying to trap him into marriage. He turned and ran. Pursued by shouts and then shots, he reached his horse and galloped away.
About the Author:
Winner of the Holt Medallion, Maggie, Daphne du Maurier, Reviewer’s Choice and Epic awards, Barbara Monajem wrote her first story at eight years old about apple tree gnomes. She published a middle-grade fantasy when her children were young, then moved on to paranormal mysteries and Regency romances with intrepid heroines and long-suffering heroes (or vice versa). Barbara loves to cook, especially soups. She used to have two items on her bucket list: to make asparagus pudding and succeed at knitting socks. Asparagus pudding proved to be pretty horrible, and she is too fumble-fingered to make socks. Now she just sticks with writing books. She lives near Atlanta, Georgia with an ever-shifting population of relatives, friends, and feline strays. Social Links:

Dear Kayce!

HUGE THANKS to The WRANGLER Horse and Rodeo News for their permission to re-post this column originally written for their publication.

Hey gang, great to see y’all back again. Tells me you ain’t right either. But that’s okay. We’re runnin’ in good company ‘cuz there’s a whole bunch of not-right runnin’ through this crowd. Let’s see what’s ailin’ ya today.

Mares: I have a crush on a widowed cowboy who never does more than smile and wave when I ride by his place. How can an old broad get the old boy’s attention without looking silly?

Oh, you don’t want to look silly. Well, that complicates things, don’t it? Ever think maybe he smiles and waves, hoping you’ll stop and chat, but doesn’t bust a move ‘cuz he doesn’t want to look silly? You might both be sittin’ alone on the same side of the fence until hell freezes over if you don’t get off your saddle-duster and take a chance. What’s the worst that can happen? He screws it up ‘cuz he ain’t smart enough to see you’re a catch? If he’s that stupid, why would you want to ride that horse? You’ve got nothing to lose—you win the guy or dodge a bullet. Cowgirl up and ride up his driveway next time you’re in the neighborhood. On the flip-side…You can stay where it’s safe and not risk looking silly. But remember, that’s gonna get you about as far with your old guy as trying to ride sidesaddle on a pig…speaking of looking silly! Besides, pride is one of those replenishing items…you use it, you lose it, you buck up, and it comes back.

Studs: When proposing to that special Cowgirl, how much do I have to spend on a ring? Can I buy it online with free delivery?

If you plan to make it to the alter with that girl, she damn sure better mean as much to you as your horse. How much did you pay for him? Did Amazon deliver him? Or did you hook up the trailer, load your butt into the truck, and drive across the state to look at him before you chunked out lots of your hard-earned cash for the privilege of hauling that animal home? Does the woman of your dreams, your life-mate, and possibly the mother of your children, deserve to have as much spent on her as on your horse? And if you opt to have the ring delivered, buy the insurance so porch pirates don’t get the ring and the girl. On the flip-side…If you don’t make a lot and you’ve found a very understanding woman, you might get away with spending the cost of your saddle. And for those of you who don’t…keep it to yourself. DO NOT get drunk and let it slip, or you’ll be sleeping in the barn next to your horse, with your saddle for a pillow. Just sayin…

That’s my story, silly and senseless, and I’m stickin’ to it. Hang on tight now, ‘cuz we’re gonna go real, real fast!

Love ya,
Kayce
