Introducing Lexi Post

Ladies and gentlemen, it gives me great pleasure to introduce Lexi Post to our Happily Ever After Thoughts family. Alexis, Dawn and I are thrilled she is joining us – a sweeter, kinder person you’ll never find and she writes beautifully, too!

Lexi will be interviewing our favorite authors and when she’s not doing that, she’s writing, writing, writing and living the glamorous life we all dream about in an exotic location that is a closely guarded secret.

We here at HEAT are anxiously awaiting the release date of her debut novel, MASQUE, from Ellora’s Cave. If you love erotic romances (and who doesn’t), you must check out this story. It’s…HOT! No, not just HOT but make you giggle out loud in inappropriate places SCORCHING; make sweat break out on your upper lip SIZZLING; douse me in cold water SPICY!

Oh! Sorry! Got a little carried away! Back to what I was saying….

Welcome, Lexi! We look forward to your interviews and we’re so happy you’re here!

As always, happy reading!
Marie

Marie, thank you so much for that lovely introduction. I’m very excited to be a part of this wonderful group.

My erotic romances are a little different in that I get my inspiration from classic literature. It all came about when I decided to write erotic romance. I wanted to write about something I knew very well (besides sex).

Having been an English major through all my degrees, I thought about those wonderful stories I had read. The only problem was most of them didn’t have very happy endings. In fact, some were downright depressing. So I decided to use them as my inspiration and hope that none of these wonderful authors would turn over in their graves once I was published :-)

So far I have found inspiration from Edgar Allan Poe, Nathaniel Hawthorne, and Washington Irving.  My stories are not rewrites, but rather present day connections to the originals with a lot of heat. It is hard to explain, so I guess I’ll just wait until MASQUE comes out and let readers discover what it’s all about for themselves.

Thank you so much for inviting me to HEAT. I can’t wait to get started! In fact, I'm giving away a $15 gift card to one lucky commenter (be sure to include contact info) to start things off right :-)

Lexi

  2. Welcome Lexi!
I can only imagine all the great articles and information you'll be adding to HEAT! So excited to have you here and I'm going to read your book as soon as it's out.
For your research, do you reread a classic to get "the feel" of it before you incorporate it in your writing? An erotic story in the classic style sounds so intriguing:)

    1. Hi Dawn, thank you for letting me join you :-) Yes, I do reread the story. These are all short stories, so a single line can give me an idea of which direction to go in. I also see nuances in the classics when I reread them with the purpose of writing an erotic romance instead of teaching a course. With MASQUE I was rereading "The Masque of the Red Death" when Poe's 7 colored rooms suddenly hit me. What if the heroine had to go through 7 different sexual experiences? And so MASQUE was begun :-)

  3. Thanks for the hint- I knew I could get something out of you for MASQUE (I use that same strategy for presents from my husband).
    Good luck!
