Pamela Aares Interview and Giveaway

Alexis: Welcome Contemporary Romance author Pamela Aares who is giving away Love Bats Last, Book #1 in the Tavonesi Series! Be sure to enter the Rafflecopter at the end for your chance to win.

So Pamela, what are you working on now?

Pamela: I'm writing book #6 of the Tavonesi Series, The Heart of the Game.   In this story, Cody Bond, former rodeo star and the Giant’s hot new catcher, agrees to ride in a benefit polo match to help heiress Zoe Tavonesi and falls head over heels for the Italian beauty.
Estranged from his family, Cody’s determined not to screw up his career with relationships, especially when Zoe and the loving, tight-knit, aristocratic Tavonesis remind him of everything his dysfunctional American family isn’t. He may be a master of control on the baseball field but Cody’s iron will can’t shield him from the desire Zoe ignites.
When a series of terrifying events threaten Zoe’s life, Cody must swallow his pride and enlist the help of his estranged father, a former CIA operative, to protect her.

Alexis: Oh, that sounds interesting. What made you chose your title?

Pamela: My husband was a MLB All-Star. From him and his teammates I have learned to see the amazing power and resonance that lives in the structure of a game-- an energy and power so similar to the power of falling in love.

Alexis: I see. What has been the most memorable fan comment you ever had?

Pamela: Readers have told me while swept up in the power of the story and the juiciness of the romances in the Tavonesi Series, they have also learned a new way to see the world and their place in it. These comments mean the world to me. I love that readers feel transformed by my stories. That's why I write!

Alexis: Does your pet help with your writing or distract?

Pamela: Helps! My cat sits at the back of my chair especially if I write late into the night. Sometimes (ok many times) she saunters down and insists on sitting in my lap and I have to type with her head on my wrist-- I suppose you could call that a distraction...

Alexis: Maybe more of a hurdle J  What was the strangest thing that inspired a story for you?

Pamela: I saw a video of a samurai master who could stand in front of a person shooting a 2mm ceramic BB from a gun who could draw his sword and split the BB in two before it hit him. The master's skill inspired Kaz Tokugawa, the pitching phenom in book five of the Tavonesi Series, Aim For Love.

Alexis: Pamela, thank you so much for visiting us here at Happily Ever After Thoughts. This sounds like a great series! Check out the blurb of Aim for Love. And remember to enter the Rafflecopter for a chance to win the first in this series Love Bats Last.

Blurb:
In Aim For Love, rising movie star Sabrina Tavonesi has only three weeks to heal her shoulder before shooting her next film. Sexy baseball pitching phenom Kaz Tokugawa has a solution—a mysterious Japanese healing method she’s too desperate to turn down. Soon, they’re not just working on her shoulder; they’re falling in love.
But Kaz has made a promise he’s not sure he can keep, and Sabrina faces inner demons that threaten to overwhelm her. When violence strikes, their secrets may destroy their dreams, their love…and their lives.

  1. Welcome Pamela! My favorite part of romance novels is an incredible set of conflicts that the reader (me!) is in constant flux as to whether the hero and heroine can actually overcome them and be together at the end. When it's hard to imagine the characters ever getting together, yet they do, it's a home run!
On another note, I'm incredibly intrigued by your background and will have to dive into your stories. Do you feel your history is pertinent to the stories you write today?
