Pumpkin Fest and Sax
My Halloween fantasy to celebrate a contract for my romantic
suspense Inked, the first of the
series From the CIA, began with a
trip to Door County, WI, the little New England of the Midwest. I did not encounter ghouls and witches, but
rather friendly ghosts and entertainers.
Walking the avenues of Egg Harbor, painted pumpkins and
bursts of fall colored mums sprang from every doorway, rock, and turn of the
street.
Artists of every kind line the booths set up for the
enjoyment of a truly talented area.
Painters of every style and color, local authors, woodwork, pottery,
beads, antiques, and a fantastic local band filled the air with a mixture of
R&B, blues, jazz, and classic rock.
I have to talk a little more about the band, Big Mouth and
the Power Tool Horns, because I always get a little goofy around great music,
with or without alcohol.
Amongst a fabulous combination of guitars, drums, and brass ,
the guys had the only female, Jamie Fletcher, hidden behind the brass section
with her keyboard. Here’s the cool
thing, I immediately wanted to meet her because she looked so much like our
lovely Lexi Post, erotic romance author extraordinaire!
I may have embarrassed Jamie when I took a load of photos of
the whole band, and then zeroed in on her with a request of the hot trombone player to take our picture. Just wait till he finds out he’ll be on a
romance blog!
We all need a little of that romance no matter what the
season, no matter whether it’s from music, atmosphere, or the reliable
paperback stuffed in our suitcase wherever we go.
Just make sure to watch out for the vampires and witches
after darkJ,
and I’ll talk more about my new book series in January as the ebook is a Jan.
release and the paperback is for May!!
Enjoy the dark!
Dawn
