Welcome 2015

At the stroke of midnight tonight, it’ll be a brand new year.
I plan on welcoming 2015 in the best way possible….by counting my blessings and being thankful for all the good things in my life.
What am I thankful for? Oh, so much!
Family, first and foremost. I have a husband I adore, a son who is precious to me and the promise of a new daughter-in-law coming into our family (my son is engaged and I’m so thrilled. She’s a wonderful person and I already consider her my daughter)!
Friends, who are just as important as family (and truthfully, are my family). I love them all dearly (I think they love me, too!). What could be better than that?
What else? I am fortunate that I have a good job working with people who are kind and wonderful and generous (and so darned smart!).
I am grateful for my critique partners, who are fabulous in every way possible!
Oh, and I can’t forget my health! I am blessed in that way as well.
I have goals for 2015, too. Not resolutions because those can be broken, but goals that I can strive for and accomplish though some are easier to achieve than others.
Still need to lose those pesky pounds that I try to lose each year (yes, they come back…they miss me) so I will be working on that.
I will continue to try to be kinder and more charitable in my thoughts and actions―a goal I set a few years ago but one that can always use improving…can’t have enough kindness in the world―not only to other people but also to myself (see the above regarding the extra pounds…I give myself a lot of flack over those stubborn pounds).
I will finish my current work in progress then start AND finish another story and I will not give up when the going gets a little tough and the story is fighting me.
I will read more, which gives me so much joy.
And lastly, I will continue to greet each day being thankful.
Have you set goals for 2015? What are they?

As always, happy reading and Happy New Year!
Marie
