ROCK-A-BYE COWBOY by Lexi Post now available for Preorder!

Rock-A-Bye Cowboy

by Lexi Post

is now available for preorder.

Releasing March 18th

Jackson Dunn has come home from his deployment with a baby he didn’t know he had, only to find the family cattle ranch is becoming a dude ranch, his oldest brother has married their enemy’s daughter, and his robust father is now in a wheelchair. That’s far more change than he’s willing to handle. He’s not even sure how his brothers think he can work when he has a tiny, pooping machine to take care of and his mind keeps jumping back to the war zone. To make matters worse, the first “guests” arrive and the last thing he has time for is a woman who keeps wandering away from the activities she’s supposed to be at.

Danielle “Dani” Hubbard has burned up her Mr. Right checklist and plans to enjoy two weeks at home watching movies, eating ice cream, and sleeping. Unfortunately, her friend whisks her away on a two-week vacation she won to a dude ranch, and Dani finds herself sleeping in bunkbeds, getting up before dawn, and chowing down with dozens of others. Intrigued that one of the Dunn brothers, who own the ranch, appears about as happy to be there as she is, she makes her vacation more interesting by investigating the sullen cowboy. The more she discovers about him, the more she’s convinced he’s the perfect Mr. Wrong.

As much as Jackson doesn’t want to admit it, Dani is actually helpful, from her advice on taking care of his daughter to putting in fence posts. That their physical attraction is off the charts, just makes their time together more enjoyable. She’s also much easier to talk to than his family, and only she has witnessed his flashbacks. Unfortunately, she’s a guest and has to go back to her life three hours away. Now, he has to decide if he’s opened up to her because she’ll be leaving and he won’t have to face her, or if it’s something else…something more.

Two new romances available for preorder by Lexi Post!

Whether you like historical romance or contemporary cowboy romance, I've got a romance story for you!

Disarming the Baron (Courting a Curious Lady: Book 3) is available for preorder at only 99¢!

She’s his mistress of convenience, which is proving quite inconvenient.

Amazon | Amazon UK | Amazon AU | Amazon CA

Mademoiselle Lissette Fontaine knows she doesn’t belong among the ton, yet finds herself fast friends with many people of that status, specifically those in the Belinda School for Curious Ladies. As much as she enjoys her new friends, and the easy life of being a lady as opposed to her days of stealing food to survive, she will do anything to avoid marrying a peer, even enlist the help of her old friend Mr. Anthony Taylour to find a wealthy middle-class spouse.

Lord Anthony Taylour, the Baron of Bellamore, is rarely what he appears because as a fourth son, he knows he’s expendable. So he uses his fortune to make the world a better place whether it’s as a Bow Street Runner, a soldier against Napoleon, or a detective for his friends among the aristocracy. Needing a weapons expert, he visits the Belinda School for Curious Ladies and is pleased to rekindle his friendship with Lissa, but he’s cautious about teaming-up with her once again. After all, when last they traipsed about France, she was younger and always dressed as a man.

It doesn’t take long to accept Lissa is a critical asset in his current investigation, so when she manipulates him into posing as his mistress at a secret house party he needs to attend, he’s determined to keep her safe. However, it’s impossible to keep her innocent, and his feelings for her begin to change. Unfortunately, the lord they’re investigating is far more dangerous than Anthony realized. He can think of only one way to save Lissa.

But if he tells her the truth, he may lose her forever.

Releasing January 9th!

Hard a a Rock Cowboy (Rocky Road Ranch: Book 2) is available for preorder!

Brody Dunn just has to convince a city girl to sell her land to his family and he’s off to a new career. How hard can that be?

Amazon | Amazon UK | Amazon AU | Amazon CA

Brody Dunn is anxious to start his training as a wildlife manager and begin his new career away from Rocky Road Ranch. His father has agreed to release him from his promise to work on the ranch if he can convince the neighbors to sell their land. That extra land is the safety net the Rocky Road needs in order to survive as a cattle ranch if the new dude ranch project fails. Brody knows it will be difficult to get the elderly couple to sell land they’ve owned for over fifty years. So when he discovers their granddaughter has inherited, and better yet, has lived in the city her entire life never knowing the land existed, he’s sure it will be easy getting her to sell.

Hannah Kingsley is shocked yet thrilled to discover she owns land in Four Peaks. Though it’s nothing but desert and an old casita, it’s all hers. Since she’s already alone in the city, now that her grandparents are gone, moving out to Four Peaks wouldn’t be any lonelier. Besides, Brody seems knowledgeable, he’s handsome, and as it turns out, he’s her neighbor. What could be better?

It doesn’t take long for her to realize Brody wants her to sell right away, especially when he shows her ranch life, complete with chores, and how dangerous living in the desert can be. Yet the more she learns about her property, the town, and him, the more she knows this is the place for her. And just maybe, Brody’s the man for her as well. But can she get him to see what’s right in front of his nose, or will his one-track mind be his downfall?

Steal Her Heart by T.S Joyce

I always look forward to reading a story by T.S. Joyce!  Her wicked words and strong women and men, or should I add Shifters rule the story?!
Maris is a powerful woman even when pulled down by an ex-husband and the loss of her ability to run a complete ranch by herself.  When she names her cattle things like Marshmallow Face and Marmalade, you can't help love the soft side of her.  When she fights the wolves attacking her herd, she has another strong side that makes a reader proud.Steal Her Heart (Kaid Ranch Shifters Book 1)
Bryson has his own turmoil in loving his former wife. Guilt is a hard trick to overcome.  When Bryson sees the problems on Maris's ranch next to the one he works on, he chances himself to be of help in his own stubborn manner.
Maris doesn't find it helpful at all that Bryson buys her herd at auction, but what he does with it, and his special traits to help fight the wolves may change her mind.
Matter of fact, Maris is intuitive and notices the grizzly in Bryson, and tests her theory more than the average human would attempt. It's a delicious, evocative, and slightly dangerous test.
Bryson's surprise at her acceptance of his other half, the grizzly, doesn't immediately convince him she can handle his demeanor.  Not until he reveals his secret.
I rooted for their romance all the way.  Maris and Bryson are strong and honest in their acknowledgement of each other.  When they weren't sure they could make it together, I wanted to burst into the novel and straighten them out.  Fortunately, they have a way of figuring it out for themselves!

Happy reading,
Dawn

Excerpt...Garland Creek Cowboy

The band started into a two-step, and he spun her slowly onto the floor. She looked terrified—a look he’d never seen on her before. He suspected it had nothing to do with dancing, but he took care to go slow and put her at ease as he two-stepped her around the floor.

After a few steps, he felt her relax in his arms. “I’m going to turn you.”

She tensed, but didn’t object as he spun her into a slow, smooth rotation. Before they’d even made a full rotation around the floor, she was moving like she had back in high school. So, he stepped it up, sending her into two and three spins at a time. By the end of the song, she was laughing and having fun with it. So was he.

His throat tightened as the old feelings stole over him. Would he ever be able to dance with this woman without wanting her?

The band didn’t stop between songs, but moved from the first two-step straight into another, calling for everyone to grab a partner and make their way onto the dance floor.  Within moments, the floor was filled with two-steppers, ranging from beginners to experts.

Melayna seemed to relax even more when she was surrounded by dancers, and she really started to get into it, swishing her skirt, and kicking. She was bold and beautiful, and he couldn’t take his eyes off her as he moved in time with her, making sure he never missed a beat or a catch.

When the band moved from the second two-step into a slow song, Devin didn’t ask. He just pulled her into his arms. She snuggled in like they’d never missed a dance in fifteen years, but he suspected it was just instinct. Because a couple of steps in, he felt her tense in his arms.

She made a feeble attempt to put distance between them. He budged slightly to let her know she wasn’t trapped, but didn’t give her a whole lot of free rein. Fortunately, she didn’t balk, and stayed where she was. By the end of the dance, she had relaxed into his arms again.

He tried to just savor the moment, and not think about what-ifs or woulda-coulda-shouldas. He allowed himself the luxury of just being in the moment with the girl he’d loved for more than half his life.

When the song ended, he loosened his hold reluctantly, staring down into her face as she tilted her chin up to smile at him.

A rush of desire slammed into him so hard he clenched his jaw to maintain control over his body and keep from doing something stupid. It would be so easy to just lower his head and kiss her right now.

She hadn’t pulled away yet.

He was trapped in the depth of her dark eyes, like helpless prey caught in a snare.

She tipped her head to the side. “Thank you, Devin. You were right. I enjoyed it tremendously.”

His brain screamed, “Kiss her,” even as she stepped out of his embrace.

Too late. I should have.

He kicked himself. He may just have made the most fatal mistake of his life. He almost reached for her again, but she turned away before he could make his arms move.

He watched her walk away.

Maybe it’s better this way.

He had no intention of ever leaving Garland Creek, and she’d made it perfectly clear fifteen years ago that she had no desire to stay in Garland Creek.  He wished things could be different.

She’d always been the girl of his dreams, except for the one little detail fate had thrown between them—she wanted to wander, to see the world with no ties, and he needed the ties that bound him to his roots.

* * *

As Melayna danced with Devin, she was reminded of how wonderful they had been together back in high school. He’d always been so easy to follow, each of them always knowing exactly what the other was going to do next.  Never any surprises or embarrassing moments, always perfect and fun.

For a moment, she managed to forget she’d fled town like her ass was on fire, that she’d been filled with the fear he would squelch her dream. She’d always known he would never intentionally do it, but her love for him had been so all-consuming and overwhelming that she hadn’t managed it well.

She’d been unable to stand her ground and make sure he knew what she wanted. She’d told him, but hadn’t had the confidence to make it a non-negotiable item.

She now realized her youth and inexperience had driven her to turn it into a deal-breaker. She’d chosen for Devin, never giving him a chance to decide for himself. She wondered now what direction he would have taken.

Given the chance to do it all over again, what would I choose today?
is
Devin had a daughter now, as well as full responsibility for the family ranch and for the Founders Association. His roots had done nothing but strengthen and deepen, while hers had run wide and shallow. She wondered if he would even consider being with a woman who was always gone to one livestock event or another.

Pain clutched her heart and squeezed as she realized he now had a family. He should be looking for a mother for Parker, not another woman who would flee overseas, leaving her family behind at home.

Another chance was something she had no right to even ask for if she wasn’t willing to make some changes in her own life.

Am I?

She didn’t know the answer. Her breath hitched in her chest at the thought that she might actually have to walk away from Devin for a second time. Did she have the strength to do it twice?

EXCERPT...

Garland Creek Cowboy

by Kayce Lassiter

Myca slipped by the pair. “Come on, Colleen, it appears the bar is now open. “Let’s give it a whirl.”
Colleen followed her to the bar, where Myca ordered, “Two butterscotch martinis, please.”
The silver-haired bartender in starched Wranglers, a black jacket, and a red vest with a bolo tie, smiled. “Okay, ladies, but I’m just a volunteer. I don’t do this for a living.”
Myca smiled. “Seriously, Ben Monroe? We’ve known you since we were all kids together. We know who you are and what you do for a living.”
He winked. “Then you know I have no clue how to make a butterscotch martini. But tell me what’s in it,” he leaned forward flirtatiously, “and I’ll try anything for you, Myca.”
She froze and cut her gaze to the side to stare at him, then to Colleen, who gawked at Ben like he’d just pissed on the floor.
Myca put one hand on her hip. “Are you flirting with me?” She’d discovered a long time ago that the direct approach either made a guy back off, or made him even more determined. She wasn’t sure which option she hoped Ben would take. She’d decide how she felt about it after she saw which way he jumped.
Ben straightened and held her gaze as he announced, “I’ve been flirting with you since you were sixteen years old. It’s about time you noticed.”
Huh, really didn’t expect him to jump that way.
The only thing she could think to say was, “Well, let’s see how good you are at bartending. That might make up my mind.”
Then she turned to Colleen and growled, “You can close your mouth now.”
Colleen snapped her jaw shut, but continued to stare.
He picked up the drink shaker. “Shoot.”
Myca stepped forward and leaned on the bar. “Okay, four jiggers of Buttershots, four jiggers of Bailey’s, and two jiggers of vanilla vodka.”
He tipped his head to the side. “That’s ten shots of booze.  How many martinis am I making.”
Myca scowled at him. “You are making two martinis.” She extended her hand across the bar and pointed to the shelf below. “And you’re going to use the two large martini glasses I put down there earlier.”
He raised a brow, but said nothing, simply reaching for the martini glasses, which were much larger than the glasses the resort had provided.
Ben smiled. “Maybe I should join you,” he teased as he poured the shots.
Myca glanced up at him. “If you’re going to join us, you’d better put more booze in the shaker.”
Ben Monroe laughed as he dumped in some ice, shook the container, and poured two very full martinis. He slid them across the bar. “Enjoy, ladies.” Then he leaned close and lowered his voice as he addressed Myca. “And be sure you come back and see me when you’ve finished that drink.”
She could feel her face heat, as she shot back a snappy retort. “Of course, we’ll be back. This is only our first drink.”
* * *

Devin watched as his grandmother and Melayna’s turned away from the bar. “You suppose those two will stay sober tonight?”
Melayna laughed. “Not a chance.” She pointed at them. “Those glasses are way full.”
He groaned, then met her gaze. “I recognize those drinks. They’re butterscotch martinis, and they are all alcohol.” He shifted his gaze back to the grandmothers. “And it would appear they have brought their own glasses, which are twice the size of the martini glasses the hotel provided.”
Melayna snorted. She covered her mouth with her hand. “Sorry. I’m just picturing the two of them fighting over a toilet to puke in.”
“Oh, let’s don’t go there. I don’t even want to think about that.”

released today!

Former professional poker player, Kendra “Night Owl” Lowe, is determined to make her new Poker Flat Nudist Resort successful, even if it means relying on her own two hands and a few misfit employees. All bets are off, however, when Wade Johnson arrives, her fourth stable manager in less than four months, and her attention wanders to his broad shoulders, six-pack abs, and polite ways.  But she’s his boss and giving in to temptation could mean jeopardizing her operation. Something she refuses to do.

Now he has to discover why the last three stable mangers quit and fulfill the requirements of his position, while trying to keep his hands off the smart, sexy, unreadable owner. But even as his body and heart become more involved, new “unfortunate events” occur to threaten the resort.

As Wade draws closer to learning the truth, his own truth is revealed. Kendra will do everything she can to make her resort a success, which could include letting him go. To win her heart and save her dream, he will have to go all-in and that could mean baring more than his soul.

From Edgar Allan Poe's short story “The Masque of the Red Death” to the 20th century American epic The Grapes of Wrath, from War and Peace to the Bhagavad Gita, she's read, studied, and taught wonderful classics.

But Lexi's first love is romance novels. In an effort to marry her two first loves, she started writing erotic romance inspired by the classics and found she loved it. Lexi feels there is no end to the romantic inspiration she can find in great literature for her sexy love stories. Her books are known as "erotic romance with a whole lot of story."

Lexi is living her own happily ever after with her husband and her cat in Florida. She makes her own ice cream every weekend, loves bright colors, and you will never see her without a hat (unless she is going incognito).
